About the Role
Responsible for coordination of Campus events set-up, breakdown, and turnover. Plan and manage schedule of events for campus ensuring timely set up and breakdown. Communicate with Conference Services Office Staff and other departments regarding events. Computer literate in Outlook and other database platforms.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for coordination of campus event set-up, breakdown, and turnover for all events.
- Review upcoming event schedules and work with team members to assist as needed.
- Assist the catering department with event setup as needed.
- Request custodial assistance for future events through WebTMA.
- Ensure that all meeting spaces are properly cleaned and work with Facilities to address any concerns.
- Report any needed repairs or maintenance needs to event spaces through WebTMA.
- Follow-up to ensure completion of repairs or maintenance.
- Provide a high level of positive customer interaction dealing with public and internal clients.
- Assist guests by answering their questions or inquiries.
- Maintain college furniture and supporting equipment in peak performance and organized storage rooms.
- Perform a periodic inventory of all tables, chairs, etc.
- Request replacements for furniture and equipment as needed.
- Responsible for ensuring building access is available prior to the event and securing the building after the event ends.
- Responsible for contacting Facilities if the room event temperature needs to be adjusted.
- May perform some basic building maintenance tasks at the event space.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Performs all duties and maintains all standards in accordance with college policies, procedures, and Core Values.
Requirements
- High school diploma or high school equivalency certificate required.
- Two (2) years of directly related experience in Conference Center setup or building operations.
- Current Texas driver's license and is insurable with the college's insurance carrier.
- Individuals hired for this position may be required to drive a company vehicle.
- A Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) will be run in conjunction with the background check during the contingent offer stage and annually/bi-annually for the duration of employment at Collin College.
- Candidates who fail the original background/MVR report or subsequent MVR reports may not be hired and/or terminated based on the results of the report.
- This position is Security Sensitive, therefore, candidates will be subject to a criminal background check.

- Ability to push, pull, carry, or regularly lift objects up to approximately 25 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift about 50 pounds
- Ability to accept supervision, assignments, change and correction
- Ability to demonstrate competence and interest to the general public, students, faculty and staff
- Computer literate in Outlook and other database platforms
