About the Role

Support the creation of visual communications that strengthen organizational messaging across print, digital, and multimedia platforms. This role contributes to graphic design, photography, video production, and related visual content while applying brand guidelines and developing core creative skills. It enhances the impact of publications, conferences, campaigns, presentations, and digital communications through consistent and effective visual design.

Responsibilities

  • Design and produce creative materials for publications, presentations, promotional materials, conferences, email, social media, digital signage, and other communications in accordance with brand and style guidelines.
  • Create and adapt layouts, graphics, and visual elements for print and digital platforms, including selecting imagery and preparing complementary visual assets.
  • Prepare graphic design files for digital production and printing and maintain organized, current project files.
  • Coordinate with the in-house print shop and external vendors as directed to meet production timelines and specifications.
  • Participate in the creation of multimedia content that incorporates graphic design, photography, video, motion graphics, and other visual elements for communications.
  • Capture staff, event, and conference photography, headshots, and basic video, and perform basic photo editing, retouching, and color correction for print and digital use.
  • Participate in video production from setup through post-production, including recording, basic editing, graphics, titles, transitions, and preparation of finished content for digital platforms.
  • Create basic motion graphics and visual elements for videos, presentations, digital signage, social media, and other digital communications.
  • Collaborate with communications staff, designers, project managers, and internal clients to understand project requirements, support larger projects, and incorporate feedback from reviews.
  • Provide expanded production support for livestreams, webinars, virtual events, and Studio 254 beyond basic setup and recording.
  • Work with freelance videographers to support video production needs.
  • Participate in professional development activities, including recommended annual training hours.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in graphic design, visual communication, digital media, or a related field.
  • Experience creating visual content for print, digital, or multimedia platforms is preferred.
  • Training or coursework in photography, video production, or multimedia tools is helpful.
  • Requires excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to relate to persons with a variety of cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of graphic design principles, brand application, and visual communication.
  • Skill in using standard design software tools and preparing files for print and digital production.
  • Skill in basic photography, video recording, and simple photo and video editing.
  • Ability to follow creative direction, apply feedback, and work with close guidance from senior staff.
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and maintain organized project files.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues and support creative work across multiple communication platforms.
  • Ability to develop new skills in multimedia production and expand creative capabilities over time.
  • No supervisory responsibility.
  • Supervised by procedures or by supervisor through periodic monitoring of progress and performance.
  • May have latitude to determine sequence of own work tasks to meet clearly established schedules.
  • Occasionally required to work weekends, nights, or be on call.
  • Occasionally lifting and/or carrying 11-24 pounds.
