About the Role
This internship offers an introduction to urban transit at Hitachi Rail, focusing on process improvements and enhancing understanding of the project/product lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Assist the North America Quality department with software and hardware quality assurance tasks.
- Implement AI use cases to reduce costs in quality activities, such as automating metric collection.
- Participate in the AI committee to contribute AI-related ideas.
- Assist the Quality Assurance Manager with various tasks, including metrics collection and KPI updates.
- Support Project Quality Managers with metrics for the Monthly Quality Report.
- Update scripts or tools used by the Quality Assurance team.
- Manage customer surveys to gather feedback.
- Monitor milestones for sending customer surveys.
- Assist other departments as needed.
Requirements
- Must be pursuing an undergraduate degree in Engineering or a related field (e.g., Artificial Intelligence Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering) at an accredited university.
- Completed at least 2 years of undergraduate coursework.
- Fluent in English, both written and oral.
- Able to work full-time hours (40 hours) for the agreed work term.
- Demonstrates a desire and ability to learn quickly and contribute.
- Ability to work independently, find solutions, and seek help when necessary.
