About the Role
Jefferson Apartment Group is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to join their team at The Beam, a luxury apartment community in New London, CT. This role involves supervising and contributing to the overall maintenance of the community, including managing the maintenance team and service vendors, while ensuring cost-effectiveness and a high standard of service.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate service and janitorial staff into a priority work schedule.
- Ensure the completion of all service requests.
- Inspect community continuously, recording and correcting deficiencies.
- Ensure all policies and procedures are maintained, and JAG’s standards of excellence in operations, curb appeal, safety, and service are in place.
- Order necessary supplies and parts within budgetary guidelines.
- Restrict overtime.
- Perform all general and routine maintenance in the community.
- Ensure that all keys are kept properly.
- Ensure that all mechanical inspections are kept up to date.
- Work with Community Manager to bid out all major contracts on an annual basis.
- Assist the Manager in the development of the annual budget as it relates to maintenance items.
- Assist in the selection and development of high-performance teams.
- Administer annual performance reviews for the maintenance and janitorial staff.
- Deliver excellent customer service.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 1+ years multi-family maintenance experience required.
- Thorough knowledge of tools and odd jobs associated with a maintenance position.
- Ability to meet the physical demands to perform the duties of the position including mobility required to move about the property, climb stairs, lift appliances and tools, stretch, bend, kneel, ability to hear occasional loud noises, among others.
- Ability to lift 50-100 pounds required.
- Availability to be on call for emergencies on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to take call after hours when required.
