About the Role
Community Forward SF is hiring a Deputy Director of Subsidy Services for the Flexible Housing Subsidy Pool for the Ending Transgender Homelessness Initiative program. This role oversees case management, housing location, coordination services, and provides an ongoing housing subsidy to participants in the trans and gender nonconforming community.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of ETH subsidy services.
- Complete necessary reports and audits as required by stakeholders.
- Ensure contract deliverables are met.
- Manage the program budget and ensure the timeliness of housing subsidy payments.
- Supervise and maintain the organization's relationships with landlords.
- Directly supervise one Housing Navigator and three Case Managers.
- Conduct weekly individual and team supervision sessions.
- Provide supportive, compliant supervision to union-represented staff.
- Ensure data quality and timeliness in the ONE System.
- Lead staff evaluations for direct reports.
- Respond effectively to grievances and participant concerns.
- Lead proactive conflict resolution and team-building efforts.
- Assist in CQI of existing programs and development of new programs.
- Assist in maintaining all program policies, procedures, and objectives.
- Proactively refine, clarify, and update program policies and procedures.
- Apply sound judgment and ethical decision-making.
- Interact effectively with city departments, provider partners, funders, volunteers, and potential donors.
- Review and approve biweekly timesheets, manage PTO requests, and troubleshoot payroll software.
- Serve as on-call backup for staff or leadership absences.
- Adhere to established policies and procedures.
- Attend training and meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of two years' experience providing managerial oversight and individual supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire staff.
- Extensive understanding of homelessness, trauma, DV/IPV, HIV/AIDS, substance use disorder and recovery, mental health disorders, neurodiversity, and systems of oppression.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate, clarify, and develop responsive policies and procedures.
- Proven track record of managing workplace conflict constructively.
- Thorough understanding of Housing First and Fair Fair Housing principles.
- Knowledge of and familiarity with the ONE System.
- Demonstrated ability to educate, teach, train, and evaluate front-line and supervisory staff.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with others in a kind, helpful, and trauma-informed manner.
- Experience and alignment with the organization’s commitment to equity, person-centered support, and cultural humility.
- Demonstrated ability to foster an inclusive environment for staff and participants.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- CPR and First Aid certification within 90 days of hire.
- TB clearance within 7 days of hire.
- Ability to stand and walk as needed throughout the shift for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods of time.
- Finger, hand, and wrist agility.
- Ability to complete tasks in an environment where interruptions are the norm and background noise is present.
- Ability to move through buildings, including stairs, and out in the community.
