About the Role
The CDI, Early Learning Centre is seeking a knowledgeable and competent Registered Early Childhood Educator for a 4-month contract Floater Position. This role is crucial for developing and implementing children's programs in alignment with CDI's play-based philosophy and provincial pedagogical standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise children in a safe and healthy environment.
- Update children's attendance throughout the day.
- Conduct consistent headcount during all transitions of children.
- Provide team leadership in a professional and positive manner.
- Observe and document children's daily interactions and responses.
- Develop and implement planned daily programs that engage, stimulate, and challenge children.
- Review program alignment with the Four Foundations of Learning and Development and AQI requirements.
- Collaborate with Resource Consultants to develop and implement program plans for children with special needs.
- Set up developmentally appropriate learning environments.
- Establish the daily program routine and children's schedules.
- Welcome families and maintain positive relationships with parents.
- Provide constructive feedback regarding children to parents.
- Create opportunities for children to engage in their community.
- Ensure consistent behavior guidance and management.
- Conduct parent interviews as requested.
- Responsible for the opening and closing of the Centre.
- May serve as the 'In-Charge' person when the Director is off-site.
- Administer medication.
- Provide placement supervision to post-secondary ECE students.
- Maintain records, program plans, daily care information, and other documentation.
- Participate regularly in supervision as required.
- Pursue professional development.
- Contribute to housekeeping duties.
- Report any signs of child abuse to Children's Aid Society.
- Inform Director of children's illnesses, injuries, and absences.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Early Childhood Education Degree/Diploma
- Registered member (in good standing) of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
- Knowledge of CCEYA, AQI, HDLH, ELECT
- Valid Standard First Aid Certificate
- Willing to work with all age groups and be flexible to accommodate operational needs.
- Willing to travel to various offices of the Agency or its affiliates.
- Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Credential verifications and References required.

Salary/Compensations
- $41,129 per annum and pro-rated based on the length of the contract.
