About the Role
As a Senior Civil Engineer in our Water & Wastewater Treatment business, you will provide senior-level technical expertise to support the development and expansion of water and wastewater treatment and infrastructure projects. You will lead technical evaluations, develop high-quality reports and designs, and coordinate technical activities. This role also offers opportunities in business development, marketing strategies, and client engagement, with the chance to mentor project team members and shape win strategies.
Responsibilities
- Manage relationships with small clients and assist senior colleagues with larger clients.
- Participate actively in a community of practice to build expertise.
- Manage day-to-day relationships with contract service providers.
- Design engineering solutions and validation processes conforming to standards.
- Conduct complex feasibility studies and document findings for cost-benefit analysis.
- Follow health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies to mitigate risks.
- Identify and address shortcomings in existing processes, systems, and procedures.
- Develop personal capabilities through training and professional accreditation.
- Deliver small- or medium-scale projects within a program management plan.
- Gather information, draft proposals, and fulfill process requirements for bids.
- Discuss and recommend technical developments to improve technology quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related field with a water/wastewater focus.
- Professional Engineering license (New York preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in planning, design, and construction of water/wastewater infrastructure and treatment facilities.
- Experience serving clients in Central New York and surrounding areas preferred.
- Experience with business development, proposal preparation, and marketing skills preferred.
- A standout colleague and project leader with a strong client focus.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary technical staff.
- Practiced self-management skills related to organization, budget control, and schedule management.
