About the Role
Summit Design + Build is seeking interns in Austin, TX, to gain hands-on experience in construction projects. This program offers college students exposure to project management, engineering, estimating, and supervision, covering the fundamentals of the construction process.
Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers and Field staff with project coordination.
- Coordinate subcontractors, materials, scheduling, inspections, quality control, and safety.
- Assist in ordering necessary materials for project completion.
- Collaborate with Subcontractors to ensure adherence to project schedules and budgets.
- Participate in team meetings.
- Assist with RFIs, submittals, and quantity takeoffs.
- Analyze drawings and project specifications.
- Assist in providing estimates for hard bid, negotiated, and conceptual projects.
Requirements
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship.
Skills
- Computer applications for spreadsheets, word processing, and scheduling
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and customer service-oriented environment
- Ability to perform duties under pressure and meet deadlines
