About the Role
Responsible for the daily replenishment and distribution of stock items to various hospital areas, utilizing advanced technologies for inventory management and order processing.
Responsibilities
- Maintain daily replenishment and distribution of stock items to Nursing, Clinical, and Support areas.
- Count inventory in designated locations daily using state-of-the-art technologies.
- Enter counts from pre-established quotas to determine order quantities.
- Transmit orders via scanner technology to the offsite warehouse.
- Organize and put away stock efficiently to maximize space.
- Respond to emergency calls from Nursing units.
- Perform all duties in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Perform cross-functional duties as assigned or required.
- Perform other duties consistent with the job classification.
Requirements
- Completion of high school or recognized equivalent.
- A valid Class G Ontario Driver’s license.
- Valid Lift Truck (Forklift) Operator’s license.
- WHMIS certificate required.
- 1 year to less than 2 years practical and related experience.
- 3 months to less than 6 months on-the-job training.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English proficiently.
- Good memory for locating supplies.
- Ability to develop product knowledge.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift heavy objects.
- Ability to walk, stand, and crouch for long periods.
- Ability to use common work equipment including computerized inventory systems, scanners, photocopiers, telephones, and lift trucks.
- Ability to perform duties professionally and courteously, producing high-quality work while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to exercise initiative and good judgment with multi-tasking capabilities.
- Compliance with confidentiality requirements under UHN Privacy Policy.
- Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of applicable legislative, UHN, and/or departmental policies.
- Client service oriented with the ability to work effectively with diversity.
- Knowledge of medical product terminology.
- Ability to meet physical demands including lifting totes up to 75 lbs, lifting products to shelves above head, pulling heavy carts, continuous standing and walking, and lifting 31 to 40 kg.
- May be required to work at multiple areas and rotating shifts in emergency situations.
- Current UHN employees must have successfully completed their probationary period, have a good employee record, and satisfactory attendance.
