Responsibilities

  • Research and present an investment thesis on a pre-selected company.
  • Prepare a written report (up to 10 pages, PDF format).
  • Develop an Excel model to support the investment thesis.
  • Create a PowerPoint presentation (up to 15 slides, PDF format).
  • Cite all sources used.
  • Utilize publicly available information for research.
  • Avoid identifying as agents or representatives of Farallon during research.
  • Consider using alternative data where applicable.
  • Submit case study materials by the specified deadline.

Requirements

  • Compete in teams of 3-4.
  • Use an anonymized team name without identifying information.
  • Each team member must submit a registration form including name, email, school, team name, and resume.
  • Team names must comply with guidelines.
  • Case study content must cover investment thesis, recommendation, company review, industry overview, valuation, and risk/return profile.
  • Excel models should be cleanly formatted and easy to understand.
  • Formulas pulling data from third-party software must be hardcoded and sources identified via comments.
  • Do not include identifying information (team members, school, student organization) in case study materials.
  • All work should be done using publicly available information.
