About the Role

LOGISTEED America is seeking a detail-oriented Customs Entry Writer to join our team in Mineola, NY. This opportunity is ideal for candidates with Customs Brokerage, Freight Forwarding, or Import Operations experience who are ready to continue growing their careers in international trade and Customs compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process Customs entries for imported shipments.
  • Classify commodities using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS).
  • Prepare, transmit, and monitor Importer Security Filings (ISF).
  • Review shipping documentation for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate with customers, carriers, Customs officials, and government agencies.
  • Maintain accurate shipment records in CargoWise and related systems.
  • Investigate and resolve shipment discrepancies, clearance delays, and documentation issues.
  • Support brokerage invoicing and related administrative activities.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in Customs Brokerage, Freight Forwarding, Import Operations, or Customs Entry Writing.
  • Knowledge of Customs entry preparation and import clearance procedures.
  • Experience with HTS classifications and tariff application.
  • Knowledge of Importer Security Filing (ISF) requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using CargoWise One.
  • Experience working within a Customs Brokerage or Freight Forwarding environment.
  • Knowledge of Participating Government Agency (PGA) requirements.
  • Experience with commodity classification and tariff application.
  • Experience handling metal commodities.
