About the Role

Langan is seeking an Air Quality Permitting and Dispersion Modeling Specialist to perform air quality projects for a wide range of clients throughout the US. This role involves performing emissions calculations, compliance reports, permit applications, and dispersion modeling, offering an opportunity to work with top industry leadership in a continuous learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support on air quality permitting projects, with special emphasis on air quality dispersion modeling development, execution, and analysis.
  • Implement solutions to air quality impacts identified in air modeling analyses, which may include refining the model or working with clients to identify emission controls, operating modifications, or exhaust modifications.
  • Perform air quality modeling analyses using common air quality models (e.g., AERMOD, MOVES, CALPUFF, etc.) to evaluate air quality impacts for Title V, PSD, New Source Review compliance, Environmental Impact Statements, and public concerns associated with development projects.
  • Prepare and communicate technical work products clearly and effectively to clients and state and federal agencies at both a technical and business level.
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team to support projects located throughout the US.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience working with air quality permitting and modeling.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing permit applications and detailed emissions calculations.
  • PE or on track to obtain (FE/EIT) or other professional certification is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, judgment, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on a multidisciplinary team and succeed in a consulting environment.
  • Reliable transportation to access remote job sites and a valid driver’s license in good standing.
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday with occasional evenings and weekends.
