Responsibilities

  • Oversee and administer all front office departments, including front desk, bell/door, and concierge.
  • Ensure departmental balance while focusing on exceptional guest experiences and maximizing profitability.
  • Maintain professional front office operations at the highest service level.
  • Develop and implement effective departmental strategies to drive results.
  • Build, train, motivate, and manage front office staff, supervisors, and managers.
  • Serve as the front office liaison to all other hotel departments.
  • Create and execute innovative front office strategies to exceed guest satisfaction and revenues.
  • Collaborate with the front office team on departmental planning, development, and execution.
  • Ensure front office staff and management are properly trained to standards.
  • Develop department managers and supervisors personally and professionally.
  • Investigate and resolve all service and accommodation complaints.
  • Monitor budgets and payroll records, and review financial transactions.
  • Establish standards for personnel performance and customer service.
  • Review work procedures and operational problems to identify areas for improvement.
  • Organize and direct worker training programs, resolve personnel issues, hire staff, and evaluate performance.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to Front Office staff.
  • Maintain knowledge of all Front Office department policies and service procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of all hotel features, services, room types, rates, packages, promotions, and daily operations.
  • Respond to daily operational demands.
  • Prepare departmental financial and payroll forecasts.
  • Monitor security of public hotel areas.
  • Establish par levels for supplies and equipment.
  • Provide training, development, discipline, and support for all department employees.
  • Create and maintain a quality, professional work environment.
  • Administer performance evaluations for all departmental employees.
  • Anticipate and respond promptly to guest and employee needs.
  • Promote positive guest relations.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to review daily business information.
  • Facilitate departmental strategic planning meetings.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) or Work Equivalent plus 3 years of experience in hospitality management.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Experience with hotel information systems is required.
