About the Role
This position is responsible for providing on-site functional supervision of a project, including areas like Solar Civil Grading, Road grading, concrete, underground, and Trimble GPS operations. The role involves ensuring projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule, while fostering a culture of safety, environmental compliance, and quality.
Responsibilities
- Administer a safety program to ensure a safe work environment.
- Promote awareness and compliance with environmental policies.
- Foster a quality culture to ensure a high-quality product or service.
- Supervise functional construction effort to meet project design, budget, and schedule.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage resources to achieve project objectives.
- Supervise craft employees to ensure productivity, efficient resource use, and contractual performance.
- Assist the project team in developing and implementing project Work Plans and procedures.
- Interface with on-site work teams and subcontractors to resolve issues and ensure project objectives are met.
- Comply with corporate safety initiatives.
- Abide by Granite’s Code of Conduct daily.
- Speak in large groups for morning meetings and huddles.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalency.
- 5+ years in construction management and/or craft supervision experience (i.e. Foreman) in a similar field of construction.
- Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods); company policies, procedures and standards.
- Communication, organizational, supervisory and planning skills required.
- Excellent management skills.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform close vision tasks and adjust focus.
- Must be safety conscious when working around large construction equipment.
