About the Role
CBI Home Health is looking to hire Personal Support Workers to support clients at home and in the community, helping them live safely, independently, and with dignity.
Responsibilities
- Support clients to be as safe and independent in their homes as possible.
- Provide personal care to clients in their home.
- Assist clients to mobilize and perform light exercises.
- Observe, document, and report any changes in client condition to Manager/Supervisor.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks as indicated in client care plans.
Requirements
- Personal Support Worker Certificate or equivalent (Health Care Aid, Developmental Support Worker, Internationally Trained RN/RPN or Midwife, or post-1st year Nursing student in Ontario).
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certificate.
- Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 12 months.
- Proof of a negative TB test within the last 12 months and up-to-date immunization record.
- Ability to travel from home to home within the community.
- Commitment to work every other weekend, minimum 5 hours both Saturday and Sunday.
- Ability to safely lift up to 35 lbs. (16 kg).
Skills
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Ability to communicate in French or other languages is considered an asset.
- Reliability.
- Strong organizational skills.
- A valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance and access to a reliable vehicle is considered an asset.
