About the Role

Oversee front desk operations during overnight hours, ensuring high levels of guest service, safety, and operational efficiency. This role is the primary on-site leader overnight, managing guest needs, completing daily reporting and audit functions, and ensuring a smooth transition to the daytime team.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a leadership and mentoring role for the hotel's Front Office employees.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all Front Office department policies and service procedures.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of hotel features, services, room types, rates, special packages, promotions, daily arrivals/departures, room availability, and scheduled in-house group activities.
  • Conduct daily walk-throughs of Front Office department areas to observe and instruct personnel on rectifying organizational deficiencies in staffing, cleanliness, service, and equipment.
  • Review and respond to daily operational demands.
  • Prepare departmental financial and payroll forecasts.
  • Monitor and handle guest comments.
  • Monitor the security of public areas of the hotel.
  • Establish par levels for supplies and equipment.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the departmental staffing guide.
  • Provide training, development, professional discipline, and positive support for all department employees.
  • Monitor interviewing and selection of all departmental positions.
  • Create and maintain a quality, professional work environment.
  • Administer performance evaluations for all departmental employees.
  • Anticipate guest and employee needs and respond promptly.
  • Promote positive guest relations.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to review information pertinent to the day's business.
  • Facilitate departmental strategic planning meetings.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) or Work Equivalent plus 2 years of experience in Rooms Division management.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Experience with hotel information systems is required.
