About the Role

The Vice President, Advanced Planning is a client-facing role serving as a financial planning and estate planning subject matter expert for Fidelity’s high net worth clients and their advisors. This role leads end-to-end financial and estate planning engagements using planning tools to deliver comprehensive client solutions, supported by an Advanced Planning Analyst. The team supports advanced planning client engagements throughout a geographic region, primarily using video technology for remote collaboration and occasional in-person meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end financial and estate planning engagements.
  • Utilize eMoney and other planning tools to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
  • Support advanced planning client engagements throughout a geographic region.
  • Collaborate with the Advanced Planning team virtually and in-person.
  • Coach and develop junior team members.
  • Communicate complex subjects clearly and effectively.
  • Build rapport and communicate effectively with clients and their advisors.
  • Deliver planning solutions with a client-first mindset and practical approach.
  • Manage competing priorities and balance multiple tasks while maintaining efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with preferred designations: CPA, JD, M.T., LLM in taxation, CFA or CFP®.
  • 13-15 years overall work experience.
  • 7+ years of trusts and estate planning, income tax planning or succession planning work experience within a public accounting, law practice, or wealth management industry environment.
  • FINRA Series 7 and 66 obtained within 90 days of employment.
  • Retirement, financial, investment, and insurance planning required.
  • Estate Planning, family wealth transfer planning, wills/trusts, income taxation, and trust and estate taxation knowledge required.
  • Ability to create and review financial plans using tools such as eMoney.
  • Experience working with business owners, start-ups/Pre IPO companies is a plus.
  • Proven ability to work independently and lead an assigned territory to drive high-net-worth client engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex subjects clearly and effectively.
  • Strong emotional intelligence with a proven ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with clients and their advisors.
  • Client-first mindset and practical approach to delivering planning solutions.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and balance multiple tasks while maintaining efficiency.
  • Positive, professional demeanor and apply a thoughtful approach to achieving successful client outcomes.
