About the Role
CBI Home Health is seeking Home Support Workers to assist clients in maintaining safe and independent lives within their homes. This entry-level position focuses on supporting clients with daily living activities and light housekeeping, contributing to their overall well-being.
Responsibilities
- Assist with general household management including light housekeeping duties, shopping, meal planning and preparation.
- Encourage client independence by supporting them to maintain a clean home.
- Perform other related housekeeping tasks as indicated in the individualized written client service plan.
- Practice universal precautions and adhere to WHMIS protocols.
- Recognize and report safety concerns or equipment malfunction in the home environment.
- Establish communication with appropriate sources in response to emergencies.
- Be conscious of hazards in the home environment and act accordingly.
- Observe, document, and report any emotional or physical changes in the client's condition.
Requirements
- A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 12 months.
- Proof of a negative TB test within the last 12 months and an up-to-date immunization record.
- Ability to travel from home to home within the community.
- Vehicle insurance and Valid Driver's License is an asset.
- Reliability and strong organization skills.
- Ability to safely lift up to 35 lbs. (16 kg).
Skills
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Ability to communicate in French or other languages is considered an asset.
