About the Role

You’ll have the opportunity to use your expertise in communication, problem-solving, empathy and conflict resolution to help thousands of people every day.

Responsibilities

  • Support budget and capital portfolio management across Transport.
  • Contribute to the management of the 10-year capital pipeline at the portfolio level.
  • Own and coordinate budget management activities.
  • Undertake investment and financial analysis.
  • Provide advice to support capital budget management, funding governance and investment decisions.
  • Build productive stakeholder relationships.
  • Provide informed advice on funding requirements and approval pathways.
  • Analyse complex financial and portfolio information.
  • Coordinate inputs.
  • Resolve issues.
  • Prepare clear recommendations, briefings and reports.
  • Exercise judgement in managing competing priorities.
  • Independently progress matters.
  • Escalate issues where appropriate.
  • Contribute to improvements in budget and portfolio reporting, data quality, financial systems and capital management processes.

Requirements

  • Experienced and solutions-focused professional with strong analytical, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in budget management, investment, finance, infrastructure, portfolio management, the public sector or a related environment.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial and portfolio information.
  • Ability to identify key issues.
  • Ability to translate analysis into clear, practical advice and recommendations.
  • Ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to work confidently with complex data, governance requirements and multiple stakeholder groups.
