Perform semi-skilled tasks to maintain a sanitary, comfortable, and secure environment.
Perform maintenance, building repair, security, snow removal, plowing, grounds-keeping, and transportation tasks.
Perform housekeeping tasks if necessary.
Collect and dispose of all rubbish.
Repair windows, doors, floors, walls, and ceilings.
Install metal studs and sheetrock.
Paint interior walls and exterior.
Operate and perform routine maintenance on VHS vehicles, including driving as needed.
Remove snow and ice from parking lots, walkways, driveways, entrances, and steps.
Maintain grounds by mowing, raking, cutting, fertilizing, re-seeding, planting, and caring for trees, shrubs, flowers, and lawns.
Keep grounds free from litter and debris.
Assist in construction and repair for all building and grounds related equipment.
Work weekend rotation and 'on call' hours.
Answer all Maintenance calls.
Clean area and tools upon job completion.
Complete job sheets and check sheets and return them daily.
Complete any job tasks assigned by DES or Maintenance Supervisor.
Attend all required in-services.
Follow all department and facility policies, including use of personal protective equipment.
Maintain confidentiality of resident care and employee information.
Follow HIPAA and HIV regulations.

Must possess a good general knowledge of building and trades.
Must possess a valid NYS Class D driver's license.
Must maintain eligibility of insurability to operate the organization's vehicles.
Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
Occasional balancing.
Frequent climbing, crouching, typing/clerical/dexterity, grasping, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, stooping, talking, visual acuity (color, depth, perception).
Constant hearing, repetitive motion, seeing/monitor/computer use, standing, walking, fit testing.
Occasional bodily fluids/bloodborne exposure, burns, chemical, electrical, explosives, mechanical, radiation/radiant energy hazards.
Occasional dust, fumes, gases, odors.
Frequent extreme temperatures, noise, vibration, wet and/or humid, mists.
Occasional travel may be required.
