About the Role

The Coverage Banker is responsible for leading their Global Corporates (GC) and International Mid Market (IMM) segments to generate new business and drive incremental existing business across the GC and IMM portfolio, delivering HSBC CIB’s growth objectives safely.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside Director of GC and IMM to support Country Head of Banking in the delivery of Japan’s growth targets and accelerate growth across the GC and IMM portfolio.
  • Identify opportunities to acquire new customers to expand business and Grow HSBC’s share of client wallet involving product specialists to ensure product capabilities are in line with client/sector requirements.
  • Co-ordinate origination and execute activities across the spectrum of CIB products/service.
  • Establish and maintain networks for co-operation with other HSBC businesses, to support the creation of solutions to customer needs that span geographical/product boundaries and regulatory environments.
  • Leveraging data and analytics capabilities to drive client acquisition and revenue growth.
  • Supporting the bank’s digitisation and sustainability agendas—and other strategic focus areas—in delivering business development opportunities.
  • Lead and manage junior coverage staff to support and deliver client performance against plan.
  • Partnering with Support Teams to ensure customer experience is managed to the highest of standards.
  • Protect the bank's reputation in ensuring acquisition is done within the bank’s risk appetite.
  • Accountable for controls, risk management and governance within GC and IMM to ensure fair outcomes for customers and the delivery of growth within the bank’s Risk Appetite.

Requirements

  • Experienced and seasoned relationship management experience and ability to lead a team of Junior RMs.
  • Proven track record in managing large corporates preferred.
  • Strong focus on client servicing.
  • Strong local market knowledge and connectivity to help propel and drive the business forward in line with the CIB growth ambition.
