About the Role

To welcome guests, manage reservations and seating, and create memorable dining experiences by ensuring a pleasant first impression and fond farewell.

Responsibilities

Greet customers in a friendly and courteous manner and escort them to their tables.
Hold and safely store guests' coats, bags, hats, or umbrellas.
Maintain the highest levels of cleanliness and observe all safety aspects, ensuring a clean and tidy work area.
Arrange and replace flowers within the restaurant and change water in vases.
Ensure guest bills are accurately posted on Micros with the correct table number assigned.
Receive payment from guests, ensuring bills are signed and room numbers/names are legible.
Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene, meeting hotel grooming and uniform standards.
Ensure Cashier Tally Sheets are accurate and any discrepancies are noted and signed by a supervisor.
Ensure Account and House charges are recorded accurately and signed by a supervisor or manager.
Deal with guest problems by following the LEARN process and completing guest response forms.
Promote awareness of health, safety, and security within the department.
Answer the telephone in a friendly and courteous manner, managing and logging all reservations and bookings.
Ensure all necessary paperwork, forms, and menus are stocked and well-presented.
Perform duties connected with handling the float.
Set up the till and Micros at the beginning of each shift.
Update staff timesheets.
Be responsible for currency transactions, accurately cashing up and filling out documentation at the end of each shift.
Adhere to the Weights and Measures Act and food hygiene standards.
Promote awareness of health and safety, including fire alert points, exits, fire extinguishers, and trip hazards.
Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures.
Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management.
Complete safety training and certifications.
Wear appropriate PPE and employ correct manual handling procedures.
Protect the privacy and security of guests and co-workers.
Support all co-workers and treat them with dignity and respect.
Develop and maintain healthy inter-departmental relationships.
Comply with Marriott International Hotels Limited regional office and hotel policies and procedures.

Requirements

Previous experience working within a F&B environment preferred.
