About the Role

The General Manager is the senior leader of the dining service department, responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and overseeing all activities and systems within a department with an annual managed volume between $1.51-3.5M. This role ensures Parkhurst standards of quality, service, and cleanliness are met, and functions as the key liaison with the client to improve services, increase efficiency, manage costs, and meet client requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of daily operations, including budgeting, staffing, and performance monitoring.
  • Ensure every guest and client experiences high-quality service and outstanding dining experiences.
  • Lead and inspire a management and hourly team in a supportive, inclusive environment.
  • Build strong, meaningful relationships with clients, guests, and team members while fostering engagement, trust and satisfaction.
  • Develop, coach, and inspire the management team to achieve department goals.
  • Own hourly recruiting and retention for their unit.
  • Partner with their DM or RDM on management staffing and retention.
  • Ensure Parkhurst standards of quality, service, and cleanliness are being met.
  • Develop and manage budgets, track financial performance, meet sales goals, and ensure contract compliance.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop management and hourly staff to build strong, effective teams.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with clients and guests, proactively respond to needs, and enhance satisfaction and retention.

Requirements

  • 7+ years in professional food service, including 3+ years in a management role.
  • Skilled in planning, organizing, and directing dining operations, ensuring Parkhurst Standards of quality, service, and cleanliness.
  • Experience developing and managing budgets, tracking financial performance, meeting sales goals, and ensuring contract compliance.
  • Proven ability to recruit, train, coach, and develop management and hourly staff to build strong, effective teams.
  • Ability to develop meaningful relationships with clients and guests, proactively respond to needs, and enhance satisfaction and retention.
