About the Role

Wonderly is seeking a Senior Marketing Manager to shape and deliver robust marketing plans and objectives for a portfolio of conference and exhibition style events. This role focuses on driving bookings, generating leads, improving customer advocacy, and ensuring revenue targets are met.

Responsibilities

  • Shape and deliver strategic marketing plans focusing on driving bookings/registrations, generating commercial leads, supporting customer adoption and conversion, and improving customer advocacy.
  • Support delegate modeling, pricing strategy, and yield management to ensure revenue targets are met.
  • Achieve registrations and delegate revenue targets for allocated event portfolios.
  • Oversee the effective delivery of marketing plans, mentoring marketing managers to ensure timely delivery and client approvals.
  • Find innovative ways to deliver against marketing plans, strategies, and KPIs, adapting to market conditions and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with the wider event team and key client stakeholders, demonstrating adaptability and strong communication skills.
  • Support a transition to a high-value marketing approach, building and delivering a data-informed, brand, content, and proposition-led model.
  • Develop and implement event-specific branding guidelines and act as brand guardian for the events.
  • Lead on design briefs and oversee work with internal and external designers.
  • Lead on client reporting, planning, internal communications, and the development of a high-performing event marketing team.
  • Develop and maintain sector-specific knowledge, evaluating customer research, market conditions, and competitor data to produce effective marketing plans.
  • Understand the event’s customer base, identify segments, and develop data and communication strategies.
  • Provide account management support with key suppliers, partners, and clients to deliver strategic, customer-centric marketing and communication event plans.
  • Identify potential strategic partners, build relationships, negotiate contra deals, deliver activity, and report on results.

Requirements

  • Strategic understanding with the ability to develop plans and adjust to multiple external factors.
  • Strong time-management skills to work on multiple projects with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates innovative thinking in strategy and execution.
  • Excellent communication skills to motivate teams and work constructively with stakeholders.
  • Experience in quality assurance and brand guardianship.
  • Client management experience, ideally within an event agency environment.
  • Knowledge of using design programs including Illustrator, InDesign, and Canva.
  • Confident, creative copywriter with a customer-centric approach.
  • Project management experience with collaborative project management tools such as Monday.com.
  • Experienced marketer who has successfully managed a team, operating at Marketing Manager level or above.
  • Proven track record in delivering successful event marketing strategies and multi-channel marketing campaigns, ideally within a B2B events environment.
  • Significant experience in a successful marketing team in a matrixed organisation.
  • Team player with a collaborative approach.
  • Structured approach to problem-solving.
  • Enjoys autonomy over their role.
  • Actively seeks to become a ‘master’ in their area of responsibility.
  • Enjoys the creative side of marketing, including idea generation, branding, and design.
  • Excellent client and stakeholder management skills, demonstrating adaptability and a collaborative approach.
  • Strategic thinker with good analytical, numerical, and communication skills.
  • Adept at creating and planning segmented email campaigns with targeted messaging.
  • Database management skills, including building/growing and nurturing a database.
  • Solid understanding of digital marketing, website optimisation, UX, and mobile apps, including SEO, PPC, Google Ad words, banner ads, and retargeting campaigns.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent proof-reading, editing, and copy-writing skills.
  • High degree of computer literacy with advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to report and analyse campaign results, draw business conclusions, and provide recommendations.
  • Demonstrable experience managing budgets.
  • Experience in an event/exhibition background, ideally from an established organisation or an Association.
