About the Role
AMD is seeking a Principal Program Manager to own the operating model for an AI-forward data science team. This role involves managing a portfolio of AI dashboards and overseeing a shared library for AI skills and agents, ensuring scattered good work becomes a cohesive system. It's a senior individual contributor role with support, where hands-on technical skills are beneficial but not required.
Responsibilities
- Own the dashboard portfolio as a product, including audience, roadmap, and retirement decisions.
- Differentiate dashboard views for individual contributors, managers, and executives.
- Define the appropriate use of AI within dashboards.
- Write requirements for dashboard builders, including metrics, grain, filters, and acceptance criteria.
- Own metric definitions and accountability for each metric.
- Set the quality bar for the Salesforce-to-Snowflake data pipeline and partner on monitoring.
- Manage the triage process for disputed numbers, including corrections and upstream fixes.
- Define and operate the AI asset lifecycle: submission, review, quality bar, versioning, publication, and retirement.
- Charter and run councils for AI asset review, including membership, intake, and decision-making frameworks.
- Own the promote-to-enterprise path, including security, privacy, and Responsible AI reviews.
- Design the adoption architecture for AI assets, including onboarding, rollout, and support.
- Measure adoption based on consistent usage and active cohorts, reporting on a shared scorecard.
Requirements
- Experience moving an organization from AI enthusiasm to AI operating behavior, understanding the difference between deployment and adoption.
- Fluency in AI skill, agent, and prompt development to set a quality bar for engineers.
- Ability to apply editorial judgment to manage the volume of AI assets and dashboards.
- Program, transformation, or operations leadership experience at enterprise scale.
- Experience owning an AI or digital adoption program, including rollout sequencing and adoption measurement.
- Experience designing operating models with defined decision rights, workflows, and review cadences.
- Experience owning a reporting portfolio serving multiple user levels.
- Working knowledge of Salesforce commercial data and modern cloud warehouses.
- Fluency with generative AI (LLMs, agents, prompting, evaluation).
- Strong executive communication and influence without authority skills.
- Semiconductor or comparable industry experience is a plus.
- Hands-on depth in SQL, Python, Snowflake or dbt, dashboard development, MCP and API integration, or agent engineering is weighted favorably but not a screening criterion.
