About the Role

Provide counsel and advice to top management on significant Database Administration & Management matters, often requiring coordination between organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the most complex database systems for the organization.
  • Coordinate with senior leaders to determine requirements.
  • Analyze, design, create and implement complex databases including access methods, device allocations, validation checks, organization and security.
  • Interpret internal or external issues and recommend solutions/best practices.
  • Design complex data models, logical and physical databases, data dictionaries and schemas.
  • Liaise with database software vendors and external technical support on issues such as software upgrades, problems, and potential solutions.
  • Review systems under development and related documentation.
  • Participate in vendor selection and relationship management.
  • Lead project teams, monitoring project schedules and costs.
  • Provide thought leadership and technical expertise across multiple disciplines.
  • Act as the go-to person for the most complex Database Administration assignments.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field and 3 years of experience in any database administration role, or a Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience.
  • Experience with SolarWinds Orion.
  • Experience with AWS.
  • Experience with Oracle.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with database performance tuning.
  • Experience with data replication tools including Oracle GoldenGate, Qlik Replicate, and IBM InfoSphere Data Replication.
  • Experience with Splunk.
  • Experience with Dynatrace.
  • Experience with service metrics dashboard creation.
  • Experience with product lifecycle management.
  • Experience with product upgrades.
  • Experience with troubleshooting data mismatch issues.
  • Experience with hybrid cloud environment management.
  • Experience creating solutions using Generative AI (Gen AI) and Large Language Models (LLMs).
  • Experience with network encryption setup.
  • Experience with security compliance.
  • If working from home occasionally or permanently, internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
