About the Role

Pershing Consultants is a specialist project management consultancy supporting the development of major energy and infrastructure projects. We are looking for a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to help clients progress complex projects through the development and consenting stages.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee projects or lead specific development work-streams, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing interfaces and keeping programmes, budgets and deliverables on track.
  • Work closely with clients, technical specialists and stakeholders to bring structure to complex challenges and help teams make informed decisions.
  • Manage development-phase projects or work-streams, primarily within Development Consent Order (DCO) or Developments of National Significance (DNS) projects.
  • Coordinate planning, environmental, engineering, legal and other specialist inputs.
  • Manage programmes, budgets, risks, dependencies and change.
  • Maintain clear governance, report progress and resolve issues.
  • Build effective relationships with clients, project teams and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development of a growing consultancy through knowledge sharing, service improvement and client relationships.
  • At Senior Project Manager level, take greater ownership of complex assignments, provide strategic advice to clients and support colleagues in their development.

Requirements

  • Experience managing complex infrastructure projects, ideally within a multidisciplinary consultancy or major project environment.
  • Experience overseeing the development phase, or specific workstreams within it, ideally on a DCO or DNS project.
  • Understanding of how planning, consenting, environmental and technical activities interact during project development.
  • Ability to coordinate specialists across disciplines, manage competing priorities and maintain momentum.
  • Experience managing project programmes, budgets, risks and stakeholder relationships.
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to turn detailed information into practical advice and concise reporting.
  • Proactive, collaborative approach and confidence working with autonomy in a smaller consultancy.
  • Relevant degree, professional qualification or equivalent practical experience.
  • For Senior Project Manager applicants, evidence of leading complex assignments, advising senior stakeholders and taking responsibility for client delivery.
