About the Role
This position performs professional-level work involving research and analysis of routine/semi-routine administrative and operational support duties in project management, quality management, performance measurement, change management, and business process improvement. Provides support to senior process consultants, auditors, and team leaders.
Responsibilities
- Assists in planning, executing, and closing projects in operational and/or administrative situations.
- Develops and maintains databases for data analysis and research findings.
- Assists in preparing recommendations for policy, procedure, and process changes/improvements.
- Writes reports summarizing findings, data collection techniques, and implementation options.
- Establishes project schedules, updates project status reports, and communicates project/process status.
- Conducts research, analyzes trends, determines data accuracy and relevancy, and evaluates alternatives.
- Facilitates and documents meetings, action items, and processes using flowcharting methodologies.
- Maintains positive working relationships with stakeholders to ensure cooperation and support.
- Serves as the Designated Employer Representative (DER) for the CDL Program.
- Supports the CDL Program and the City’s Alcohol & Drug Testing Program.
- Maintains and supports the AIM on Target Employee Relations database.
- Monitors CAIU referrals and tracks required actions.
- Assists with Employee Relations performance metrics.
- Reviews policies and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Recommends process improvements and best practices.
Requirements
- Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience to perform essential job functions.
- Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a field related to the job, plus one (1) year of related experience.
- Experience may be substituted for education up to a maximum of four (4) years.
- Requires a Valid Texas Class C driver's license or the ability to acquire one by hire date.
- External New Hires must meet the City of Austin's Driver Record Evaluation (DRE) requisite.
- Applicants cannot have more than three moving violations or a total of six Driver Record Evaluation points within a period of thirty-six (36) months.

- Advanced experience with Word, Excel, and Access.
