About the Role

The Line Cook is responsible for preparing, seasoning, and cooking menu and non-menu orders according to LodgeWorks specifications. This role involves maintaining clean and sanitary work areas, following safe food handling practices, and collaborating with sales staff for various events and services.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, season, and cook menu and non-menu orders.
  • Clean and sanitize all work areas, including kitchens, food preparation, dish washing, storage, and service areas.
  • Follow safe food handling and service practices.
  • Work closely with Sales staff to service guests, meeting rooms, events, catering, restaurants, and bars.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance.
  • Inspect and clean food preparation areas, equipment, work surfaces, and serving areas.
  • Ensure the freshness and proper storage of food.
  • Set up, clear, and break down the workstation.
  • Utilize a variety of kitchen equipment safely.
  • Identify hazards and assess risks associated with food and equipment, reporting them to management.
  • Control waste and use appropriate portion sizes to maintain food costs.
  • Monitor food inventories and maintain appropriate levels.
  • Prepare food items according to designated recipes and quality standards.
  • Practice safe work practices, wear protective safety equipment, and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
  • Clean working and storage areas, tools, equipment, and floors.
  • Maintain all sanitation requirements, including temperature, storage, product rotation, and product handling.
  • Execute daily side work.
  • Assist in any other task and duties as requested by management.

Requirements

  • Possess a food handling certificate.
  • Capable of exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Capable of standing for an entire shift or for an extended amount of time.
  • Capable of reaching overhead, utilizing both hands, leaning over, stooping, and kneeling.
  • A team player with a heart for hospitality.
  • Customer-focused.
  • Nimble and able to adapt to change quickly.
  • An excellent communicator.
  • Comfortable following directions, guidelines, and work objectives.
