About the Role
Lightspeed Express, Powered by DHL is seeking dependable individuals to join their team as Foot Couriers. This role is crucial for ensuring timely and secure delivery of packages and documents throughout Manhattan, supporting the company's mission of providing exceptional, time-sensitive delivery solutions.
Responsibilities
- Pick up and deliver envelopes, packages, shopping bags, and other items safely and on time throughout Manhattan.
- Travel primarily on foot and use public transportation as needed to complete time-sensitive deliveries efficiently.
- Stay in regular contact with dispatch throughout the shift to receive assignments, provide updates, and communicate delays or delivery issues.
- Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with customers at offices, retail locations, hotels, studios, and other delivery destinations.
- Accurately track pickups and deliveries, obtain required signatures, and verify addresses and recipient information.
- Handle all packages carefully and securely while following company procedures and delivery instructions.
Requirements
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Manhattan and the NYC subway system.
- Comfortable using a smartphone and navigation applications.
- Ability to communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers.
- Comfortable walking and standing throughout the workday and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to safely carry delivery items weighing up to approximately 14 lbs.
- Able to work independently and adapt to changing, time-sensitive delivery assignments.
- Prior courier, messenger, delivery, or customer-service experience is helpful but not required.
