About the Role

This position is responsible for providing administrative support to the Medical Staff Services department, managing the credentialing, privileging, and administrative operations for all healthcare providers practicing within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Process initial applications, reappointments, and verify licenses, background checks and certification.
  • Ensure alignment with standards from Joint Commission.
  • Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and document minutes for medical staff, med exec, dept of surgery, dept of medicine, infection control, pharmacy and therapeutics, quality and patient safety.
  • Complete pathology and operative review, mortality review and chief of staff report for hospital board meeting.
  • Maintain secure, confidential databases tracking provider education, peer reviews, and performance evaluations.
  • Maintain and update Medical Staff By-Laws/Policies/ Rules & Regulations as needed.
  • Manage the provider on-call schedule online.
  • Assist with OSU Medical Student Orientation on a monthly basis.
  • Work with provider liaison to ensure new providers are oriented appropriately.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of administrative experience in a medical setting preferred.

Experience Level

  • 3-5 years

Education Level

  • Associate's degree preferred
