About the Role
The Events & Room Service Server is responsible for delivering a five-star luxury lifestyle guest service experience, serving food and beverages for events and room service. This entry-level role requires initiative and a proactive approach to ensure an exceptional guest experience.
Responsibilities
- Serve food courses including breakfast, coffee breaks, buffet, plated lunches, dinners, and receptions.
- Serve non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages.
- Prepare equipment and inspect cleanliness and presentation of china, glass, and silver.
- Communicate menu knowledge, including allergens, to guests and the kitchen team.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness of assigned tables and buffet areas.
- Clear courses and tables properly.
- Set, clear, and reset event spaces for following events or days.
- Deliver room service orders to guests.
- Actively upsell to guests to maximize revenue and service goals.
- Communicate with the kitchen regarding special requests, allergens, product availability, and wait times.
- Report work-related accidents or injuries immediately.
- Follow company and department safety and security policies.
- Complete safety training and certifications.
- Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions.
- Follow procedures for handling emergencies.
- Use proper equipment and personal protective clothing, employing correct lifting procedures.
- Follow policies for safe operation and storage of tools and equipment.
- Protect the privacy and security of guests and coworkers.
- Follow company and department policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary materials.
- Protect company tools, equipment, and assets.
- Ensure uniform, nametags, and personal appearance are clean and professional.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
- Address guests' service needs professionally, positively, and in a timely manner.
- Welcome and acknowledge each guest with a smile, eye contact, and friendly greeting.
- Assist other employees to ensure proper coverage and prompt guest service.
- Listen and respond positively to guest questions, concerns, and requests.
- Anticipate guests' service needs.
- Provide assistance to individuals with disabilities.
- Engage guests in conversation regarding their stay, property services, and area attractions.
- Thank guests with genuine appreciation and provide a fond farewell.
- Speak to guests and coworkers using clear, appropriate, and professional language.
- Provide assistance to coworkers, ensuring they understand their tasks.

- Discuss work topics discreetly and quietly.

- Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day.
- Follow appropriate procedures for serving alcohol.
- Set room service tray tables according to event type and service standards.
- Set Event spaces according to brand standards.
- Communicate with guests, employees, or departments to ensure guest needs are met.
- Ensure staff is working together as a team.
- Thank every guest upon departure, invite them to return, and wish them a fond farewell.
- Complete closing duties, including storing goods, breaking down goods, cleaning equipment and areas, returning equipment, locking refrigerators, restocking items, turning off lights, locking doors, and completing cleaning checklist.
- Ensure set up is according to the event BEO.
- Check with supervisor or manager before leaving at end of shift.
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of assigned tables and buffet.
- Accurately follow Room Service cycle of service.
- Present physical and accurate check and process payment.
- Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with food courses and beverages.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- At least 2 years of related work experience.
