About the Role
This role is for a Business Director with multichannel campaign management experience and a background working at advertising agencies. The Business Director is responsible for managing a single large key client or multiple clients, championing client growth, leading direct reports and wider agency resources to create effective, integrated work, and ensuring client satisfaction and long-term profitable relationships.
Responsibilities
- Lead the account team to develop proactive and responsive strategic proposals which drive demonstrable value for clients.
- Identify and develop relationships with key budget-holding clients at senior levels, seeking opportunities and developing plans for business growth.
- Develop and nurture relationships with senior people in partner agencies.
- Accountable for client revenue targets, including forecasts, and rapidly reacting to changes in clients' businesses that impact revenue.
- Lead client negotiations with senior-level procurement and marketing contacts to agree agency fees and retainers.
- Lead and motivate account teams to deliver first-class account management, ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard, on time, and on budget.
- Ensure compliance with VCCP company reporting and legal procedures, and management of client accounts to contractual agreements.
- Ensure teams adhere to account billing processes, maintaining urgency in timely and accurate invoicing.
- Proactively develop, implement, and share new ways to improve work quality within the agency, fulfilling the agency’s founding principles and challenger philosophy.
- Head up and take responsibility for the agency’s strategic and creative response to briefs, evaluating in terms of quality, budget, and benchmarking against objectives/KPIs.
- Work with the team to develop brilliant and inspiring briefs that help deliver the best strategic and creative work.
- Oversee the formal evaluation of completed campaigns and sharing of results, ensuring learnings are shared across the agency and within the team.
- Take leadership in reviewing creative work objectively and constructively, working closely with senior creative teams.
- Ensure the right senior resource is engaged in work at the right moments for optimal output.
- Partner with IPD to ensure optimum engagement/ways of working across the partnership.
- Challenge siloed thinking by ensuring ideas are media agnostic and simple enough to work across every consumer touchpoint.
Requirements
- Multichannel campaign management experience.
- Background working at advertising agencies.
- Comfortable with an entrepreneurial atmosphere and taking initiative.
- Ability to lead and motivate account teams.
- Understanding of client revenue targets and financial accountability.
- Experience in client negotiations with senior-level procurement and marketing contacts.
- Familiarity with agency reporting and legal procedures.
- Understanding of account billing processes and invoicing.
- Ability to evaluate creative work objectively and constructively.
- Experience in talent management and resource allocation.
