About the Role
As a Digital Apprenticeship Assessor, you are responsible for assessing apprentices against the Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours (KSBs) for Data Technician (Level 3), Data Analyst (Level 4), Digital Support Technician (Level 3), and Machine Learning (Level 6) standards. You will ensure all assessment decisions are fair, valid, reliable, and compliant with regulatory standards and organizational policies. This role is vital in the learner journey, providing critical evaluation and feedback for successful program completion.
Responsibilities
- Conduct high-quality assessments against digital standards, including projects, professional discussions, and observations.
- Maintain accurate assessment records and ensure compliance with Assessment Organisation, DfE, and IQA guidelines.
- Collaborate with Learner Support Coaching to determine learner readiness for formal assessment.
- Apply equality, diversity, and inclusion principles to ensure learner inclusion.
- Maintain up-to-date occupational knowledge of data and AI tools.
- Assess a range of evidence, including projects, professional discussions, and observations.
- Make accurate and timely assessment decisions.
- Provide clear, constructive feedback to apprentices.
- Liaise with the IQA team on sampling and validation of assessment decisions.
- Ensure compliance with Assessment Organisation / DFE requirements.
- Apply equality, diversity, and inclusion principles.
- Comply with safeguarding, Prevent duty, and data protection requirements.
- Ensure learner inclusion when conducting assessments.
- Apply current occupational knowledge of data and AI roles and tools.
- Understand the differences between Level 3, Level 4 and Level 6 standards.
- Maintain CPD in data and assessment practice.
- Communicate effectively with apprentices and colleagues.
- Participate in standardisation activities.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
- 2+ years of experience assessing data or digital apprenticeship standards.
- Experience of using AI tools.
- Assessor qualification (TAQA, A1, CAVA or equivalent).
- Data-driven and proactive, using insights to inform strategy, measure impact, and drive continuous improvement.
- IQA qualification (desirable).
- Data or analytics-related degree or professional qualification (desirable).
- EPA assessment experience (desirable).
- Successful candidates will be required to undergo a DBS check; where the role meets the criteria for regulated activity, an Enhanced DBS check (including a barred list check) will be required prior to commencement of employment.
- Require 2 professional references from HR department, current or previous manager, or someone senior in the business.

Salary/Compensations
- Up to £38,000 per annum
