About the Role
This role is crucial for ensuring the availability and reliability of our large-scale equipment, which is essential for the terminal's efficient operations.
Responsibilities
- Carry out preventive maintenance and repair works in accordance with company safety standards to minimize equipment downtime.
- Conduct fault finding on assets using PLC to identify and remedy repair issues effectively.
- Collect data and information while working on any asset and provide to Engineering Planners.
- Manage and supervise contractors during equipment delivery, commissioning, or while working on any asset, ensuring safe working practices.
- Support the development, improvement, and updating of method statements and risk assessments for preventive maintenance or repairs on Automated Stacking Cranes.
- Lead by example and encourage others to implement and improve safe working procedures and practices.
- Work closely with stores and Asset Managers to maintain inventory and stock levels.
- Continuously innovate and improve to ensure optimal productivity and equipment performance.
Requirements
- National Qualifications Framework – Minimum Level 3 Qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds etc.) in electrical discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in an electrical technician role.
- Troubleshooting and fault diagnostic skills for electrical and control circuits.
- Experience working on heavy plant/manufacturing equipment is essential.
- Understanding of and use of PLC systems for effective fault finding.
- A basic understanding of PLC programming is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge/understanding of motors, inverters, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- Experience and knowledge of HSE regulations related to equipment maintenance and activities.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- A full valid UK driving licence or appropriate international licence.
- No unspent criminal convictions.
- Individuals must weigh under 130kg for safety critical roles.
