About the Role

CIR is seeking an experienced IT Systems and Security Analyst to support and maintain a wide variety of systems and users. The role requires a creative thinker focused on innovation and improving IT systems with security at the core, ideally within a small or medium-sized enterprise (SME) environment experiencing growth and change.

Responsibilities

  • Support, monitor, maintain, and refine IT systems and security service delivery across SaaS and IaaS platforms, including AzureAD, M365, and AWS.
  • Support and maintain a diverse hardware and OS ecosystem (Windows, MacOS, Linux, iOS, Android).
  • Execute day-to-day IT operational tasks, including complex technical support, account provisioning, device provisioning and support, patch management, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Act as an internal expert to coordinate with and respond to alerts and threats identified by a SOC/MDR partner.
  • Support internal audit processes and compliance baselines (e.g., Cyber Essentials), identifying gaps and contributing to security risk management.
  • Propose actionable operational improvements by constructively questioning existing systems and security workflows, technologies, and delivery methods.
  • Use technical skill and creative thinking to support and evolve operational security delivery for investigation activities in a challenging environment.

Requirements

  • Practical experience with Azure/AzureAD and SSO integrations, M365, AWS for an SME.
  • Proven experience in implementing, supporting, and maintaining a wide range of SaaS applications in an SME environment.
  • Strong background in support and usage of key productivity and collaboration tools (e.g., Office 365, Teams, Slack).
  • Hands-on experience supporting and troubleshooting Windows, Mac, Linux, and mobile OS environments.
  • Practical understanding of security risk management frameworks and audit standards like Cyber Essentials.
  • Pragmatic understanding of modern AI tools, including operational opportunities and security risks.
  • Active UK SC Clearance, or full eligibility to undergo SC vetting.
  • Excellent attention to detail in IT service delivery, security compliance, access management, and documentation.
  • Proactive in identifying inefficiencies or opportunities for improvements and suggesting solutions.
  • Genuine dedication to the company’s core objectives and a desire to maximise team impact.
  • Comfortable switching between high-level analytical tasks and support duties.
  • Able to independently organize work to meet deadlines in a rapidly changing environment.
