About the Role

Manage complex workers’ compensation claims and drive positive recovery outcomes as part of a specialist team delivering expert claims and injury management support. This 12-month fixed-term opportunity is based in our Mascot Head Office and involves the end-to-end management of a portfolio of complex NSW workers compensation claims.

Responsibilities

  • Manage complex workers’ compensation claims and drive positive recovery outcomes.
  • Manage a wide-range portfolio of claims.
  • Review and assess workers compensation claims in accordance with NSW Workers Compensation legislation, standards of practice.
  • Make liability decisions on claims and treatment.
  • Implement effective claims and injury management strategies.
  • Influence, motivate and strive to deliver exceptional claims management outcomes.
  • Educate and assist employees and business managers on workers’ compensation.
  • Lead case reviews.
  • Assist with the development of claims management strategies on all open claims.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience managing complex Workers’ Compensation claims across a diverse portfolio.
  • Strong knowledge of the NSW Workers’ Compensation legislative framework, regulations and Standards of Practice.
  • Proven ability to make sound liability decisions and manage complex claims outcomes.
  • Experience developing and implementing effective injury management and return-to-work strategies.
  • Strong understanding of PIAWE calculations and Workers’ Compensation weekly benefits administration.
  • Ability to identify barriers to recovery and implement person-centred claims management solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, with confidence influencing outcomes.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical capability and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Right to work in Australia / New Zealand without restriction or sponsorship.
