About the Role
Performs duties necessary to keep the physical structure and associated equipment of the hospital in good repair, including minor electrical and mechanical repairs. Operates and maintains stationary mechanical equipment and hospital utilities such as lighting, heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems.
Responsibilities
- Performs minor electrical work.
- Performs mechanical repairs.
- Operates and maintains stationary mechanical equipment, such as steam boilers, compressors, vacuum pumps, generators, and electrical switchboards.
- Maintains utilities including lighting, heating, refrigeration systems, and air conditioning.
Requirements
- HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience.
- Appropriate trade/technical/vocational training is essential.
- Journeyman level experience.
- Engineering experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
Skills
- Journeyman level knowledge of boilers, H.V.A.C., electrical, plumbing, and all mechanical equipment.
- Knowledge of Medical Center Safety Policy and Procedures.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Accuracy, attention to detail.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
