About the Role

Join CommBank's Financial Crime Operations team as a Senior Manager AML Reforms, leading complex change initiatives to enhance financial crime risk management and protect customers, communities, and the financial system.

Responsibilities

  • Lead AML/CTF and Sanctions reform initiatives driving material improvements across Financial Crime Operations.
  • Provide oversight of confirmed suspect activity to identify emerging financial crime trends, risks, and opportunities for enhancement.
  • Partner with Executive Managers, Senior Managers, and key stakeholders to influence outcomes and deliver strategic change.
  • Drive the operationalization of Group policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and oversee financial crime risks, controls, control testing, and remediation activities.
  • Provide insight-driven reporting and recommendations to senior leadership and governance forums.
  • Lead change management activities and ensure effective stakeholder engagement and capability uplift.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop leaders and specialists to strengthen AML/CTF and Sanctions expertise.
  • Ensure effective resource planning, operational forecasting, and delivery of business performance objectives.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging financial crime risks, regulatory developments, and industry trends.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience leading AML/CTF, Sanctions, or Financial Crime Operations functions within a complex financial services environment.
  • Demonstrated success delivering large-scale regulatory, risk, or transformation programs.
  • Strong knowledge of AML/CTF legislation, sanctions obligations, and financial crime risk management frameworks.
  • Experience managing operational risk, controls, control testing, issue management, and remediation programs.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders across multiple business units.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a track record of using insights to drive decision-making.
  • Experience leading, developing, and inspiring high-performing teams through periods of change.
  • A passion for continuous improvement, innovation, and delivering better risk outcomes.
