About the Role
As a Compliance Expert, you will act as the interface between the 1st and 2nd Line of Defense, advising Product Management, Business, and other stakeholders on regulatory requirements and supporting the development of compliant products, services, and processes from conception to implementation. You will bridge the gap between regulation and innovation, translating regulatory requirements into pragmatic solutions and assisting teams in developing future-oriented products compliantly.
Responsibilities
- Support international expansion by advising Business and Product teams on regulatory requirements for market entry and international expansion, conducting regulatory assessments, and assisting with licensing analyses across various jurisdictions.
- Translate regulation into business solutions by analyzing regulatory requirements with Legal, assessing their impact on products, services, and processes, and translating them into practical business requirements.
- Enable compliant product development by working closely with Product, Business, Operations, and Technology to integrate regulatory requirements throughout the entire product lifecycle into product design, customer journeys, controls, and operating models.
- Strengthen governance and risk management by developing, implementing, and monitoring effective governance, risk, and control processes within the product environment and ensuring sustainable implementation of regulatory requirements.
- Connect stakeholders by acting as a trusted interface between the 1st and 2nd Line of Defense and fostering collaboration between local and group-wide stakeholders.
- Shape the future of compliance by supporting compliance tech initiatives and promoting innovation, knowledge exchange, and best practices to build a technology-driven and future-oriented compliance function.
Requirements
- Completed studies in economics, law, or a comparable course of study.
- Several years of experience in compliance at a bank or payment institution, ideally with a focus on product governance, standardization, and/or automation.
- Very good knowledge of relevant legal and financial supervisory requirements, including EBA guidelines and EU regulations and directives (e.g., PSD3, CCD2, AMLR).
- Strong ability to analyze regulatory requirements and translate them into practical business solutions.
- Experience with digital tools and automation solutions, as well as a strong interest in using technology for compliance.
- Analytical and structured way of working, combined with a high degree of initiative and a pragmatic, solution-oriented mindset.
- Strong communication and cooperation skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Very good English skills (must-have), German skills are an advantage (nice-to-have).
