Responsibilities
- Perform and assist in service of equipment including inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality including but not limited to fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubes
- Perform and assist in the rebuilding of an HVAC unit, receiving detailed direction while sharing hands-on task responsibilities with Journeyman and Foreman
- Drive a company vehicle to and from jobsite, transporting and maintaining inventory of hand tools and necessary materials for job completion
- Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely manner
- Perform basic data entry and navigate email, internet, and word processing programs
- Demonstrate professionalism in appearance, verbal, and written communication
- Interact with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each call
- Explain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Participate in available training through regional technician trainers and off-site learning modules
- Maintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill sets
- Complete jobsite hazard assessment prior to initiating service and adhere to Daikin Applied and customer safety policies and OSHA guidelines
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 0-2+ years of related experience with increasing responsibility or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Accepted as an Apprentice by Local Union 787
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
- Required license(s) and/or training card as required by local law district
- Rotational Emergency Call Support availability as required
- Previous experience in mentoring less experienced technicians
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment requirements, including verification of employment history, education, background screening, and drug testing where permitted by law. Safety-sensitive positions may require cannabis (marijuana) testing. All testing and employment decisions will comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
