About the Role
We are looking for a Technical Project Manager to establish and manage program management for several key automotive projects from our Tokyo office. This role demands strong technical credibility, direct customer engagement, and the ability to create structure in a rapidly evolving setting.
Responsibilities
- Define milestones, own timelines and deliverables, and manage sprint and roadmap execution for software development teams through series production.
- Manage OEM relationships and hold partners accountable for schedule and quality commitments.
- Serve as the primary customer contact for Japanese OEMs, translating requirements into actionable engineering tasks and providing structured updates.
- Coordinate across internal and external teams to align technical roadmaps, resolve cross-team dependencies, and support international roll-outs.
- Drive issue resolution, taking ownership of problem-solving and decision-making across teams and locations.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in technical project management or engineering within the automotive industry, with a preference for hands-on experience at an OEM or Tier-1 supplier.
- Proven supplier management experience, with the ability to hold OEM partners to schedule and quality commitments.
- Strong customer-facing presence, comfortable representing Applied Intuition independently with OEMs and executive stakeholders.
- Technical depth in embedded systems, middleware, or ADAS sufficient for assessing feasibility and engaging engineers credibly.
- A builder mindset, capable of establishing program structure from scratch with minimal existing support.
- Ability to operate independently across multiple sites and time zones.
- Native Japanese language proficiency and fluency in English.
