About the Role
As a front-of-house representative of the F&B team, the Bartender Employee is responsible for delivering five-star luxury lifestyle guest service experiences. The role involves actively upselling to maximize revenue and achieving personal and team-related revenue and service goals. This entry-level position requires initiative and a proactive approach to ensure guests have unique and fabulous options, making their F&B experience exceptional.
Responsibilities
- Prepare drink orders for guests according to specified recipes using measuring systems.
- Issue, open, and serve wine/champagne bottles.
- Set up and maintain cleanliness and condition of bar, bar unit, tables, and other tools.
- Prepare fresh garnishes for drinks.
- Stock ice, glassware, and paper supplies.
- Transport supplies to bar set-up area.
- Wash soiled glassware.
- Remove soiled wares from bar top and tables and place in designated area.
- Anticipate and communicate replenishment needs.
- Works with the kitchen and F&B team to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction.
- Report work-related accidents or injuries immediately to manager/supervisor.
- Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures.
- Use proper equipment, wear appropriate personal protective clothing (PPE), and employ correct lifting procedures.
- Identify and correct unsafe work procedures or conditions, or report them to management and security/safety personnel.
- Follow policies and procedures for the safe operation and storage of tools, equipment, and machines.
- Maintain awareness of undesirable persons on property premises.
- Follow property-specific procedures for handling emergency situations.
- Protect the privacy and security of guests and coworkers.
- Follow company and department policies and procedures.
- Ensure uniform, nametags, and personal appearance are clean, hygienic, professional, and in compliance with company policies.
- Protect company tools, equipment, machines, or other assets.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary materials and information.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
- Welcome and acknowledge each guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly verbal greeting, using the guest's name when possible.
- Actively listen and respond positively to guest questions, concerns, and requests.
- Address guests' service needs in a professional, positive, and timely manner.
- Anticipate guests' service needs.
- Thank guests with genuine appreciation and provide a fond farewell.
- Provide assistance to individuals with disabilities.
- Assist other employees to ensure proper coverage and prompt guest service.
- Engage guests in conversation regarding their stay, property services, and area attractions/offerings.
- Speak to guests and co-workers using clear, appropriate, and professional language.
- Support all co-workers and treat them with dignity and respect.
- Develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments.
- Partner with and assist others to promote an environment of teamwork and achieve common goals.
- Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
- Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
- Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
- Follow appropriate procedures for serving alcohol.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day, practicing clean-as-you-go procedures.
- Assist your and other departments when needed to ensure optimum service to guests.
- Report any employee, guest, and/or vendor incidents and accidents to management and Loss Prevention.
- Thank every guest upon departure, invite them to return, and wish them a fond farewell.
- Secure liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas.
- Complete closing duties, including storing all reusable goods, breaking down goods, cleaning all equipment and areas, returning equipment to proper locations, locking refrigerators, restocking items, turning off lights, locking doors, and completing daily cleaning checklist.
- Count bank at end of shift, complete designated cashier reports, resolve any discrepancies, drop off receipts, and secure bank.
- Follow property control audit standards and cash handling procedures.
- Transport bank to/from assigned workstation, following security procedures.
- Obtain assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies, obtaining change required for expected business level, and keeping bank secure at all times.
- Process all payment methods in accordance with accounting procedures and policies.
- Issue, open, and serve wine/champagne bottles, ensuring guest satisfaction.
- Follow all state and local laws for serving alcohol responsibly.
- Maintain cleanliness and condition of bar, bar unit, tables, and other tools, following all set-up guidelines.
- Document and communicate any incidents/accidents immediately to management and Loss Prevention during shift or event.
- Requisition all necessary supplies, specifically bottle-for-bottle liquor restock, transporting supplies from storeroom to bar set-up area as required.
- Anticipate and communicate replenishment needs promptly, ensuring no shortages throughout scheduled function time.

- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- At least 1 year of related work experience.
