About the Role

Play a key role in shaping the Bank's banknote strategies, including the high-profile $5 Redesign Project celebrating First Nations cultures and history. This is a full-time opportunity until the end of February 2028, covering parental leave.

Responsibilities

  • Lead one of two teams within the Banknote Strategy and Engagement section.
  • Contribute to the Bank's banknote strategies through research, analysis, strategic advice, stakeholder engagement, and oversight of the $5 Redesign Project's governance and reporting.
  • Oversee strategic research and analysis to inform the Bank’s banknote strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including scientific, operational and policy teams.
  • Apply strong analytical, critical thinking, and writing skills to shape strategic, policy and operational decisions.
  • Oversee project management of high-profile initiatives such as the $5 Redesign Project, with responsibility for reporting to high-level governance committees.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including industry partners and accessibility advocates.
  • Provide influential, evidence-based advice to senior leadership on complex strategic and operational issues.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team.
  • Contribute to a broad range of strategic and operational issues across the Note Issue Department management team.

Requirements

  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with sound judgement.
  • Strong leadership capability, preferably with experience managing teams.
  • Ability to communicate complex analysis, verbally and in writing, clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to navigate uncertainty and solve problems.
  • Excellent written communication skills for high-quality reports and documents.
  • A background in policy or related areas is desirable but not essential.
  • Submit an updated CV together with a statement of no more than 500 words outlining suitability for the role.
