About the Role

Liberty LEADS seeks Counselors to facilitate project-based learning discussions for middle and high school students, focusing on topics like relationships, school, self-esteem, and self-empowerment. The role aims to enhance students' self-awareness, social awareness, relationship skills, responsible decision-making, and overall attitudes towards themselves, others, and school.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement social/emotional learning curriculum for small groups of students.
  • Instructors must have reliable WIFI and computers and must have cameras on at all times and appear on camera if classes switch to online.
  • Manage classroom using positive behavior management strategies.
  • Meet regularly with the Liberty LEADS Advisors for supervision and debriefing.
  • Provide lesson plans to supervisor one week in advance for approval.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, education or related field preferred.
  • Must possess strong communication skills and knowledge of group development.
  • Experience creating and running groups with middle school middle and /or high school aged youth.
