About the Role

This role involves comprehensive coffee quality assessment, from analyzing samples to conducting cupping sessions and ensuring products meet quality specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Follow policies and procedures to comply with requirements.
  • Perform full analysis of offers, pre-shipment samples, shipment samples, and arrivals (Commercial to Specialty).
  • Prepare and dispatch samples to customers.
  • Maintain accurate records of all coffees received and assessed in the system.
  • Prepare cupping sessions following SCA protocols.
  • Conduct physical analysis, measurements, and recordings of coffee attributes, including screen size and moisture content.
  • Perform cupping to ensure quality requirements are within specifications and authorize product release.
  • Keep cupping areas, dishwashing facilities, and sample rooms clean and organized.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in coffee cupping, sensory evaluation, tasting, and coffee quality assessment.
  • Experience in coffee quality control, coffee roasting, hospitality, food & beverage, laboratory testing, or related environments is preferred.
  • Exposure to specialty and/or commercial coffee markets is advantageous.
  • Experience with laboratory activities, sample management, and quality record keeping is beneficial but not essential.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic trading environment and respond professionally to customer and operational priorities.
  • Unrestricted work rights in Australia.
