About the Role

BCG is seeking an IT Strategy Director to define, maintain, and govern the overall IT strategy, focusing on an experience-led, AI-first approach to become an AI-powered digital engine. This role involves setting strategic direction for digital and IT across all BCG businesses, working closely with senior IT leaders and cross-functional partners to define ambition, approach, and path forward on core strategic tech topics. The position requires collaborative problem-solving for complex, ambiguous questions, developing clear problem statements, compelling arguments, and driving data-backed solutions into action.

Responsibilities

Define, maintain, and govern the overall IT strategy.
Deliver specific sub-strategies on a wide range of topics.
Set the strategic direction for digital and IT for BCG.
Collaborate with CIO, CTO, CISO, Head of Architecture, and cross-functional partners to define ambition, approach, and path forward on core strategic tech topics.
Form partnerships and collaboration opportunities across Technology Practice and other key BCG areas.
Solve complex, ambiguous questions with senior business and IT Leaders and the broader BCG team.
Develop clear problem statements and compelling arguments to define the path forward.
Understand opportunities and problems across the organization and lead the organization to data-backed answers.
Drive answers into action.
Create clear persuasive verbal arguments.
Drive planning efforts for the annual cycle.
Drive decision making on prioritizing initiatives, funding, and resources.

Ability to formulate strategic direction and gain buy-in at all levels.
12+ years’ working in IT or Digital organizations, with a good proportion in strategy experience.
Significant experience and success in working in a highly matrixed organization with a flat structure.
Multiple successful examples of autonomously setting strategy on different topics in complex organizations.
Experience being value-orientated rather than technology-orientated.
Experience leading decisions through to a conclusion in a highly matrixed organization with minimal or no supervision.
Experience getting actions into action once a strategy is set.
Experience rallying the organization to make the first steps before handing over to delivery teams.
Experience preparing materials for, and presenting at, senior levels including C-Suite.
Superb storyteller with a strategic mindset able to create brilliant arguments and supporting materials in PowerPoint.
