About the Role

Join KBR as a Combat Systems Engineer to support the delivery of engineering services across Combat Management Systems and Communications Systems. You will provide trusted technical advice to Commonwealth representatives and key stakeholders, contributing to the sustainment and ongoing performance of critical maritime capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Combat Management and Communications Systems Engineering expertise and technical advice.
  • Identify technical risks to integration, compatibility, and cybersecurity.
  • Mitigate risks in designs conducted by external agencies, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Perform activities directed by the CLCM Senior Combat Systems Engineer and ACSSPO Principal Engineer.
  • Ensure compliance with approved policy, plans, and processes.
  • Develop tasking statements for design tasks.
  • Develop design solutions and requirements within Engineering Change Management, Configuration management, Systems Safety, and Certification.
  • Review engineering design task deliverables and conduct associated technical Design Reviews.
  • Conduct technical risk assessments.
  • Conduct Systems Engineering verification activities.
  • Work within and to the requirements of the Navy Seaworthiness Program and the Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO).
  • Verify new Request for Problem Resolution (RPR) against the approved Requirements baseline, Certification Basis, and Safety Case Report.
  • Manage Request for Variations (RFV) to Return to Standard (RTS), Make Permanent, or cancellation.
  • Formulate solutions to problems by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, calculations, and criteria.
  • Perform work involving conventional engineering practice and assessment, including complex features like conflicting design requirements and systems integration.

Requirements

  • Experience with Requirements Development, Design Review, and Acceptance within a regulated technical framework.
  • Must be eligible for ITAR clearance of relevant ship systems.
  • Must hold and maintain an active Baseline Defence Security Clearance.
  • Compliance to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
