About the Role
Hempstead Ford is seeking a motivated Entry Level Service Technician with at least 6 months of automotive experience. This role offers a path for career development, focusing on learning new technologies and growing within the service team.
Responsibilities
- Perform work specified on repair orders efficiently and in accordance with dealership standards
- Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive systems including engines, transmissions, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor regarding vehicle findings and any additional service needs
- Provide accurate estimates of time needed for additional repairs
- Perform warranty repairs according to manufacturer specifications
- Learn from experienced technicians and continue developing diagnostic and repair skills
- Stay current on new technology, repair procedures, and manufacturer specifications
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 months of hands-on automotive experience REQUIRED
- Ford Certification preferred
- State Inspector License Required
- Previous Ford dealership experience preferred
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and mechanical dexterity
- Basic computer skills
- Motivated to learn, grow, and build a long-term career in automotive
- Eagerness to improve technical skills and take on additional responsibilities
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to learn new technology, repair procedures, and specifications
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
