About the Role
The Genius Sports Product Team is seeking a Staff Product Manager to lead digital match capture products. You will work with global sporting leagues to build, enhance, and maintain products that capture, process, and deliver tracking data. You will own positional tracking for first-party and third-party use-cases across the entire product lifecycle, identifying market opportunities and determining how match capture delivers value. You will also explore emerging technologies like computer vision and digital twins, running prototypes and bringing promising ideas into the core platform. The ideal candidate is experienced in B2B SaaS products, comfortable owning a customer-facing offering and internal platform, and can bridge technical and strategic discussions.
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and grow Genius Digital Match Capture.
- Operate as a platform product manager, balancing first-party and third-party requirements and treating application product managers as customers.
- Understand customer needs and develop requirements for positional tracking for first-party and third-party use-cases.
- Own the product lifecycle end-to-end, including ideation, discovery, build, launch, and post-launch growth.
- Define and evangelize a clear, prioritized product roadmap for digital match capture.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, operations, and business teams to ensure timely delivery of initiatives.
- Explore next-generation capture opportunities and validate promising ideas.
- Provide strategic direction on data-informed investment opportunities for digital match capture.
- Balance investment across short, medium, and long-term horizons.
- Define KPIs, build dashboards, and make data-driven decisions.
- Partner with commercial, marketing, and operations teams for go-to-market strategies.
- Mentor less experienced product managers and improve product practices.
- Stay current on relevant technologies and competitor offerings.
Requirements
- 6-12 years of relevant product management experience.
- Experience leading a complex product or platform with significant business, customer, or operational impact.
- Product management experience building B2B SaaS, platform, or data products.
- Strong grasp of product lifecycle mechanics.
- Experience leading complex cross-functional programs.
- Technical fluency sufficient to work with computer vision, systems, and data platform engineers.
- Ability to create clarity in technically ambiguous spaces.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
- Experience working in and delivering products or services in an agile/lean environment.
- Proficiency in gathering and transforming product requirements into a practical, prioritized product roadmap.
- Track record of mentoring less experienced product managers.
- Domain experience in sports, computer vision, real-time systems, developer/platform products, 3D capture, or digital twins is a plus.
- Familiarity with WebGPU, Unity, Unreal, or comparable engines/runtimes is a plus.
- Degree or equivalent relevant experience required.
